Cultural Integration

Niche Languages

How has your experience been with cultural content in the language learning apps you have used? What did you find beneficial or lacking?

"I found that the cultural content in the app I used was quite limited. They did include some basic customs and etiquette.”

"The app I used had great cultural videos and real-life scenarios which helped me understand the practical use of the language better.”

Can you describe your experiences trying to find and use resources for learning less common languages through apps?

"It's been quite challenging to find good resources for learning Finnish. Most popular apps don't offer Finnish, and the ones that do are not very comprehensive.”

"I was trying to learn Zulu, and the only app that had it was very rudimentary. The lessons were mostly vocabulary lists.”

Takeaways

Impact:

Our target users shared that the design was intuitive to navigate through, more engaging with the culture, images, and demonstrated a clear visual hierarchy.

What I learned:

learned that even though the problem I was trying to solve was a big one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.

Next steps
